FDC Exhibition
The Female Design Council is excited to launch its newest exhibition of works by women. The FDC will be presenting a new curated exhibition of member works in December in Manhattan in partnership with a major retail furniture brand. The exhibition will be on view and open to the public December 16, 17 and 18 in a gorgeous Flatiron showroom, with an opening party on December 16. The exhibition will be co-curated by the brand’s Creative Director and FDC leadership.
We have also partnered with a design PR agency who will be making a big editorial media push for the show, with expected coverage in outlets such as Dezeen, Business of Home, Galerie, Elle Decor, etc. The exhibition will be photographed by Matthew Gordon Studio (https://matthewgordon.net/)
All FDC members are encouraged to submit works to the open call –
please read the submission guidelines carefully!
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Works may be ceramics, lighting designs, fiber art, glass, sculpture, metalwork, functional objects and other collectible design pieces. One of a kind tables or chairs are OK but commercially available furniture is not eligible. (If you are unsure if your work is eligible, please email and ask!)
FDC members may submit up to 6 works for consideration.
If your work has previously been in an FDC exhibition, you are still eligible here.
Works must be able to fit in a 2’ x 2’ square.
Works may not be over 40 lbs. No height limit.
Works must be freestanding (nothing that requires hanging on a wall).Works may have been exhibited before, or may be entirely new work.
Works must be delivered onsite in Manhattan the morning of Monday, December 14 for installation. Works must be picked up on Monday, December 21. The FDC cannot ship or store works.
SALES INFORMATION
Works may be available for purchase but do not need to be available for purchase. The website will have contact information for each artist and any sales inquiries will be sent to the artist directly. Artists are responsible for any communications with buyers. The FDC does not take any percentage of sales!
